One week at Weight Watchers and....

Yeah for me...I am on my way. I figure as long as I take it slow and easy then I'll get to my goal. As of right now I would be thrilled if I drop 10 more pounds and the rest will be just bonus.

Tomorrow I have a fun brick workout in the morning followed by swimming in the afternoon. FUN FUN FUN

Swimming

Finally started the swim training today. I am lucky enough to have a pool right across the street from work so today I thought that I would start swimming again. Today the pool had lane swimming from 11-1:30 pm. I don't take any of my 15 min breaks during the day, so I was able to go swimming from 11-12 pm. Well I didn't actually swim for an hour cause I left work at 11 and by the time I purchased a 30 day pass it was around 11:15 by the time I got in the water. I could only stay till 11:40 because I had to dry my hair and straighten it and put on make-up (need to look respectable for work). Is there any swim caps, which I can use which won't allow for my hair to get wet? That would save so much time. The assistant principal told me that I should just blow dry my hair at the office that way I'll have more time to swim. I guess I could always do that. Anyways...the good news is that I didn't drowned...I still know how to swim. I would like to get to the pool 3-4 times a week (I think that is realistic).

Half marathon is only a few days away and I am hoping that I can get rid of this cold that I've had for almost a week. I rarely ever get sick, but for some reason this time it is hanging around. At least I am able to function and do my work.

Not much to write...life is busy, but no complaints...

Calgary Marathon...Change of Plans!!

I guess it probably doesn't take much to figure out that there has been a change of plans and I am no longer doing the marathon on the 21st. I have opted out and decided to the half marathon instead. I just am not feeling like I would be up to racing that distance in 2 weeks. I know that I would have for sure been able to complete the distance, but getting a time that I would be proud of would not have happened. Therefore, I have decided to stick to what I know I can do. I honestly do prefer the half marathon distance, but I will definitely get race the full again in time.

This weekend we enjoyed a long weekend. We didn't do too much besides eat out a few time and go and see Monsters vs. Aliens with the kids. It was really cool and I love the 3d effects. I got a couple of good workouts in as well, but still not up to the level where I'd like to be, but I am getting there...slowly but surely.

Other news I have once again joined WW as I admit that I NEED help to get down to where I feel comfortable in my own skin. We are off on our holidays in approximately 7 weeks and I would love to get down. The last thing I want is to worry about how I look in pictures. My goal for this week is to drink 2L of water per day and lose 4 pounds by next week, which is completely achievable as I have been retaining a lot of water and I know that I will be dropping water weight in the next week. So I am officially a work in progress or a body under construction.

Things that are going on...

Yesterday my mom got us tickets to a concert at our church called "The Concert of Hope". I am not much for opera style music, but it was amazing. I loved it!! One of the songs, which I absolutely adored was from "The Prince of Egypt" and it was called "When you Believe" The chorus was this:

There can be miracles
When you believe-
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill.
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve
When you believe
Somehow you will,
You will when you believe.

Now if that isn't inspirational, then I don't know what would be. My mom and I had a really good time together. They also sang songs from Phantom of the Opera and "The Prayer". I can't wait to go again next year.

Susan has got her mojo back. I think the whole infection of the elbow and being on the medication just did a number on me. I finally feel 100% back to normal. The elbow is still red, but not nearly as bad as it was. However, the important thing is that I can once again put my whole heart into training and get back into the program. Once Trevor gets back I would ideally love to get to the pool. Time is ticking away and I haven't swam once...not good.

Trevor is doing the Halstead Marathon in Essex, England at 2 am tomorrow morning, which is 10am local time for him (I think). I hope everything goes well for him. I can't imagine traveling everywhere and then doing a race at the end of the trip. I know he will do awesome!! Only 3 more sleeps till we see him again..YEAH!!!

Last night Kamden and Simon slept over at oma and opa's, so I was sure I would have an awesome night sleep. I was woken up my Kamden's alarm clock---ARGH!!!!! I haven't slept in past 6:15 am in what seems like forever. Of course, it was hard to get back to sleep, so I didn't even bother. Oh well...sleep is over rated. They are dropping them off soon and then we need to go and buy a b-day present as Kamden as a party to go to tomorrow...should be fun for her as it is at the Science Centre.

Flowers Bloom

Okay it's official I have the BEST husband ever. Around 3:00pm today the secretary called me (our offices are right next to eachother)to come to the front as I walked out of my office I saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers. They said that it was for me and at first I didn't think they were telling the truth, but I checked the card and it said "Happy Mother's Day - Love Trevor". Isn't that just the sweetest thing ever??? He still is in Afghanistan...well actually he left Afghanistan a few hours ago and is off to Dubai for 2 nights and then to London, so he will not be here on Mother's Day. I just think that is so thoughtful to send me something while he is out of town.

So, do any of you watch the Biggest Loser? LOVED yesterdays episode. I tell you those people inspire me. They were on week 18 and one of the final 4 an eighteen year old has lost over 160 lbs already. His dad, who was well over 400 lbs at the beginning of the series has lost more than 140 lbs. So they had their final challenge of the season...to run a marathon. These are people that were morbidly obese 4 months ago. Whoever completed the marathon was given $10,000 to give to their charity of choice. The top runner was a 23 yr old girl who got a time of 4:55, 2nd place was and older lady with a time of 5:55, and then the 18 year old boy came in 3rd with a time of 8:55 (he injured is hip 3 days prior and had to walk the marathon). Finally the dad came in with a time of 13:55...I cried when he came in....he has the worst knees ever and at one point in the marathon he had to get medical attention and after his vital were checked they found that his blood pressure was super high (upper number was 200). He rested for a bit and continued on...Persistence....Persistence....Persistence....Wow!!! I really have learned a lot from these people...Amazing.

The Count Down

glitter-graphics.com

Only 9 more days till we get our Trevor (aka Daddy) is back. I've gotten back into exercise mode, but I must admit that my enthusiasm levels have not returned. I think part of that is because I am just so darn tired. I am beginning to think that my iron levels are below normal and I should maybe just be taking some pills to increase those levels. I was hoping that by the time Trevor got back I would have been able to get into the habit of exercising in the morning, but I just couldn't do it. Honestly, I haven't even tried....only evening workouts for this gal. I really need to kick it up a notch as the Calgary Marathon is going to be here in a mere 27 sleeps and I don't want to have to suffer through that race. I am extremely concerned with my training for IM as well...I'll be okay...I just have to be more positive...more optimistic...more determined...
